“Since you get more joy out of giving joy to others, you should put a good deal of thought into the happiness that you are able to give.”
―Eleanor Roosevelt
We are in great need of volunteers. Pantry tasks include assisting clients, and stocking shelves (Tues. or Thurs. 9 A.M. to 1 pm). We also need groups of volunteers (Mondays 9 A.M. - 10:30 pm available) to aid in ongoing projects such as stocking, cleaning, and facility projects.
To volunteer is to give of yourself in service to a cause. It is about freely giving your time to help an organization, your community, or an individual. And this giving of your time and service is done free of charge, without expectation of compensation and without coercion.
Volunteer work is important for your health. The Corporation for National and Community Service says that volunteering improves psychological and physical health. Volunteers reap the benefits of feeling a personal sense of accomplishment while building social networks that, in turn, support them in times of stress.
